Photography Submissions

At Beauty Etc., we invite makeup artists and beauty photographers to submit their latest work for possible publication. We are looking for editorials that celebrate makeup, from clean and classic to extreme and avant garde. We encourage submissions to take into consideration current trends, as well as our readership: makeup artists and consumers who live for makeup.

While we invite you to submit your work, we do ask that you adhere to the following guidelines in order for your work to be considered.

  • 1. Editorial must be 6 to 10 pages, but no longer.
  • 2. Upon first contact, please submit spreads as low-resolution at 72 dpi in either JPEG or PDF formats.
  • 3. Please label all files with your FIRST and LAST NAME as well as the date you are submitting. EXAMPLE: JohnDoe_061010.jpeg.
  • 4. All beauty editorials must contain multiple beauty brands. (NOTE: Please steer away from drugstore brands.)
  • 5. Complete team credits are required: photographer, makeup artist, hair stylist, wardrobe stylist, models and all of their agencies. (If not agency-represented, please note website.)
  • 6. COMPLETE beauty credit is required in the following format or will not be accepted:

    • MAKEUP TYPE: BRAND PRODUCT (in) COLOR
    Foundation: Face Atelier Ultra Foundation Pro in #1 Porcelain
    Eye Liner: Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Pearly Brown 2L
    Lipstick: MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Charismatic

    Submissions for a particular issue (we are quarterly) should be in by the following dates:

    SUMMER 2010: April 21, 2010
    FALL 2010: July 15, 2010
    WINTER 2010: October 12, 2010
    SPRING 2011: January 12, 2010

    Everything above must be included in the submission. If you are selected, Beauty Etc.'s editors will contact you for a short interview of the photographer and makeup artist.
